Want the high-end look of a black architectural slat wall without a complicated installation?

Traditional acoustic wall panels can be long, cumbersome and difficult to position, particularly when you're doing the project yourself. Installation can also involve drilling, locating studs and mechanically fixing oversized panels to the wall.

Our Black Acoustic Wood Panels are designed to make the look much more achievable. They're lightweight, 120cm × 60cm and self-adhesive, giving DIY renovators a manageable way to create a bold designer feature wall.

Deep black timber. Architectural slat detail. A bold feature wall made easier for DIY installation.
Black Finish

A Bold, Seamless Finish Designed for Contemporary Interiors

The black-on-black combination creates a sleek and cohesive architectural finish. Rather than relying on contrasting timber tones, the subtle texture and shadow between each slat become the feature. The result is sophisticated, modern and particularly effective in spaces where you want to create depth and visual impact.

Why Choose Black Acoustic Panels?

✓
Real Wood Veneer Genuine timber veneer adds natural texture and detail for a more authentic architectural finish.
✓
Black-on-Black Design Deep black timber paired with black acoustic felt creates a sleek, seamless and contemporary look.
✓
DIY-Friendly Lightweight 120 × 60cm panels and self-adhesive backing make installation much more approachable for home renovators.
PEEL
& STICK

No Nails. No Liquid Adhesive. No Hunting for Wall Studs.

The self-adhesive backing removes much of the installation complexity associated with traditional large acoustic wall panels. Prepare a suitable wall surface, position the panel carefully, peel away the backing and press firmly into place. It's a cleaner and more DIY-friendly way to create a statement slat wall.

Why Our 120cm × 60cm Panels Make DIY So Much Easier

Many traditional acoustic wall panels are supplied in extra-long lengths. That can make them difficult to transport, carry through the house and hold in position during installation. Our shorter panel format makes the project much more manageable.

Easier to Carry Lightweight 120cm panels are easier to manoeuvre through doorways, hallways, stairs and around furniture.
Easier to Position Work with one manageable section at a time rather than trying to hold and align a large heavy floor-to-ceiling panel.
Easier to Get Home The compact panel size is far more practical for residential delivery than oversized 2.4m+ acoustic panels.
Acoustic Comfort

Designed to Help Soften Unwanted Noise and Echo

The timber slats sit over an acoustic felt backing designed to help absorb sound and reduce unwanted echo within the room while also creating a decorative architectural feature.

Black is particularly well suited to media rooms, bedrooms, home offices and contemporary living spaces where you want both acoustic comfort and a strong visual statement.

Where Black Works Beautifully

The deep black finish works especially well in spaces where you want to create contrast, depth and a bold architectural feature.

Installation Instructions

What you’ll need

  • Tape measure
  • Pencil
  • Level or laser level (recommended)
  • Clean cloth + mild cleaner (or sugar soap) and warm water
  • Sharp utility knife with spare blades
  • Fine-tooth saw or circular saw (recommended for straighter cuts)
  • Optional: construction adhesive (for textured/low-grip walls or extra hold)
  • Optional: roller (wallpaper seam roller) to help press down firmly

Step-by-step

Step 1 — Prepare the wall
Step 1 — Prepare the wall

Walls must be clean, dry, smooth and dust-free. Wipe down with sugar soap (or mild cleaner) and allow to dry fully. Avoid applying to freshly painted walls—ensure paint has cured.

Step 2 — Plan your layout
Step 2 — Plan your layout

Choose your starting edge and mark a straight reference line with a level. Decide slat direction and spacing (keep joins and edges consistent for the cleanest finish).

Step 3 — Dry-fit first
Step 3 — Dry-fit first

Hold each panel in position before sticking to confirm alignment, height and cut points (especially around skirting, corners, power points and trims).

Step 4 — Cut to size
Step 4 — Cut to size

Measure and cut panels to fit. For best results, use a fine-tooth saw for straight cuts. A sharp utility knife can be used to trim felt and small adjustments. Measure twice, cut once.

Step 5 — Peel and position
Step 5 — Peel and position

Peel the backing gradually (don’t remove it all at once). Align to your reference line, then press from the centre outwards. Keep edges tight and straight as you go.

Step 6 — Press firmly for a strong bond
Step 6 — Press firmly for a strong bond

Apply firm, even pressure across the entire panel (hands or a roller). Pay extra attention to edges and corners. If your wall is textured or paint is low-grip, add construction adhesive for extra hold.

Step 7 — Continue and align panels
Step 7 — Continue and align panels

Work panel by panel, checking alignment as you go. Keep slats parallel and maintain consistent spacing at joins for a seamless feature wall look.

Step 8 — Final check and finish
Step 8 — Final check and finish

Do a final firm press along all edges and joins. If you’re adding trims or finishing strips, install them last for a clean, professional finish.

Tip:
For best adhesion, avoid installing on rough/textured walls, dusty surfaces, or walls exposed to moisture. If you’re unsure about your surface, use construction adhesive for added security.

The timber veneer can be lightly sanded and painted or stained if you wish to customise the finish prior to installation.

No. These panels are designed for dry internal spaces only. Prolonged exposure to moisture may affect adhesion and performance.

These panels are designed for vertical wall installation. Ceiling installation is not recommended due to weight and adhesive limitations.
