Product Description
Get the Designer Timber Batten Look — Without the Heavy Panels or Installation Hassle
Create a modern timber feature wall, kitchen island or architectural accent with our Batten Flexible Wall Panels in Natural Birch Finish. Designed with DIY renovators in mind, these lightweight 120cm panels give you the high-end vertical batten look in a format that's much easier to handle, cut, install and get delivered to your home.
Love the timber panel look, but not the cost, weight or complexity that can come with traditional systems?
Creating an architectural timber feature can often mean working with large rigid panels, long lengths, complicated cuts and materials that are difficult for one person to handle. That's not always practical when you're renovating your own home.
Our Batten Flexible Wall Panels were designed as a more approachable alternative. At just 120cm tall × 60cm wide and 5mm thick, they're lightweight, manageable and far easier to work with — while still creating the narrow vertical lines and natural timber finish that make batten walls so popular.
Real Timber Character Without the Heavy Construction
The natural birch surface gives your project the warmth and character of timber, while the slim flexible construction keeps the panels lightweight and easy to work with. Leave the timber natural or customise the appearance with a suitable sealer, stain or oil.
Why DIY Renovators Love These Panels
They're designed to make a high-end architectural wall treatment achievable without turning the project into a major construction job.
Narrow vertical battens create the clean linear texture seen in modern designer interiors.
The 120cm panel length is far more manageable for DIY projects than oversized full-height panels.
Easier to lift, position and work with than many heavier rigid wall-panel systems.
The flexible MDF core can follow suitable gentle curves as well as standard flat walls.
The practical panel size is ideal for many half-wall, island bench and furniture-style applications.
Compact panels are much more practical to package and deliver than oversized 2.4m+ lengths.
Why 120cm Panels Make So Much Sense
Bigger isn't always better — especially when you're the one cutting, carrying and installing the panels. Many wall-panel products come in long full-height sheets, even when your project only needs a much shorter section.
Designed for a Cleaner Finished Look
When installing multiple panels together, the vertical batten pattern is designed to align from one panel to the next. This helps the panel edges visually blend into the repeating vertical pattern so the join lines are less noticeable once installed.
That means you can build out a wider feature wall using multiple manageable panels without losing the clean, continuous batten effect.
Rigid Walls Aren't Your Only Option
Traditional wall sheets are typically designed to stay flat. Our flexible MDF core allows the panel to adapt to suitable gentle curves, giving you more freedom to create curved counters, architectural features and other interior details as well as standard flat walls.
Finish the Timber to Suit Your Space
The natural birch surface gives you the freedom to choose the final look rather than locking you into one timber colour.
Made for the Projects DIY Renovators Actually Do
The compact panel size makes Batten Flexible Wall Panels particularly practical for feature areas where full-height sheets can be unnecessary or difficult to work with.

What you’ll need
- Tape measure
- Pencil
- Level or laser level
- Circular saw, jigsaw or fine-tooth handsaw
- Construction adhesive suitable for timber or decorative wall panels
- Caulking gun
- Sandpaper for edge clean-ups
- Clean cloth for dust removal
- Paint, clear finish, oil or stain depending on your selected panel finish
Step-by-step
Measure the full width and height of your wall, including any windows, cabinetry, bulkheads or power points.
Dry lay your panels first and use a level or laser line to mark a straight starting point.
Make sure the wall is clean, dry, dust free, grease free and as smooth as possible before installation.
Use a circular saw, jigsaw or fine-tooth handsaw. Cut slowly and support the panel well for a cleaner edge.
Place your cut panels in position to check fit, spacing, alignment and the final visual balance.
Apply construction adhesive to the back of the panel in beads or lines, following the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions.
Press each panel firmly onto the wall, checking that it is straight and aligned with the previous panel.
Allow the adhesive to fully cure before painting, sealing or placing stress on the panels.
Paint pre-primed panels, or seal, oil or stain oak and birch panels depending on your desired finish.
Recommended Adhesive
Use a quality construction adhesive suitable for MDF, timber or decorative wall panels. Adhesive selection should be based on your wall surface and installation conditions.
