Wood Roll Installation Guide

How to Install Flexible Wood Rolls

Create a seamless timber-look feature wall, vanity, cabinet front or furniture makeover without saws, drills, nails or screws. Our Flexible Wood Rolls are lightweight, easy to cut, ready to paint or stain, and perfect for DIY lovers wanting a professional-looking finish.

What You’ll Need

  • Ruler or tape measure
  • Sharp scissors or Stanley knife
  • Pencil
  • Sugar soap or dishwashing liquid
  • Cleaning cloth
  • Bucket of warm water
  • Contact adhesive and/or Liquid Nails
  • Light grit sandpaper
  • Paint brush
  • Paint or stain
  • Silicone or caulk

Before You Start

Flexible Wood Rolls are designed with precision-cut edges that can align side-by-side for a smooth, continuous look. The rolls may include excess raw paper edges, which can be trimmed away for a clean finish.

Depending on how the roll has been cut, slight gaps or join lines may appear between panels. These can usually be filled with a small amount of wood filler for a more seamless, professional result.

Important Curling Note

As the rolls are shipped tightly wrapped in a tube, they may initially hold a curled shape, especially in cooler weather.

Before installation, lay the roll flat and gently warm it using a hair dryer or heat gun. This softens the material and helps it relax back into a flatter, easier-to-handle form.

Hardware Store Tip

Contact adhesive, Liquid Nails, silicone, caulk, wood filler and finishing products can be purchased from your local hardware store.

Your hardware store may also recommend suitable options based on your installation surface and project type.
