Frequently Asked Questions - Stick on Tiles

What are Peel and Stick on Tiles?

Peel and stick on tiles are self adhesive tiles that are designed to be installed over existing tiles or other surfaces. They require no grout, are easy to clean, are inexpensive and can dramatically makeover your kitchen, bathroom or laundry with little effort.

What is the difference between Composite and Vinyl Tiles?

Our Composite and Vinyl Stick on Tiles offer a range of styles, colours and finishes to revamp your project space. The Composite Tiles are made from PVC materials with a laminate finish measuring 4mm in thickness. The Vinyl Tiles have a glossier finish and are 2.5mm in thickness. Both are incredibly realistic and easy to install, requiring a sharp stanely knife (and some silicone for a high quality finish) to complete your DIY project.

What surfaces can I use Stick on Tiles on?

Existing tiles, gyprock, glass, painted walls, acrylic, stainless steel, aluminium or plastic surfaces. Just make sure the surface is clean and dry before installation

What dimensions are the Stick on Tiles?

Each design does vary in size, be sure to read the product information for each tile to confirm its dimensions before ordering.

Can I use Stick on Tiles in wet areas such as showers?

Our Vinyl and Composite tile ranges are water-resistant by design, making them suitable for use in areas like bathrooms splashbacks, splash zones, kitchens and laundry rooms. However, when it comes to direct water exposure—such as inside shower enclosures—additional waterproofing measures are essential.

Shower Use (Direct Water Exposure):

While not part of our official installation recommendation, some customers have successfully used both Vibyl and Composite tiles in shower areas by:

- Sealing all perimeter edges and corners with waterproof silicone.

- Applying silicone between vinyl tile sheet joins to prevent water ingress.

- Filling Composite tile grout lines or beveled edges with either waterproof silicone or epoxy grout to ensure full coverage.

While we do not recommend placing tiles directly in shower areas, thousands of customers have successfully installed our peel & stick tiles in bathrooms and wet zones using proper sealing techniques — without issue.

Please note: These installation methods are customer-applied and fall outside our standard guidelines. As such, installations in wet areas like showers are not covered under warranty. Performance will ultimately depend on correct application of sealing products.

Can I use Stick on Tiles on floors?

We do not recommend you use our Vinyl or Composite Wall Tiles for flooring as we cannot guarantee the longevity of the products on these high traffic surface, however we do have a range of Vinyl Floor Tiles!

Can I remove the Stick on Tiles?

Yes the tiles can be removed in the future, however, may leave adhesive residue or lift some paint off in the removal process. We recommend you first heat up the adhesive glue using a hair dryer and then slowly peel them off.

Is it safe to use Stick on Tiles behind the stove / hot plates?

We recommend allowing at least 30 cm of space from the centre of the back stove top burner to the splashback area when installing Stick on Tiles. This is to ensure safe installation and to prevent any heat-related damage.

While we do not recommend placing tiles directly next to open flames or extremely high heat sources, over 10,000 customers have successfully installed our peel & stick tiles in kitchens with closer clearances—without any issues.

How many sheets of tiles will I get?

We sell all our tiles by the sheet. The dimensions listed on each product are for a single sheet. The below graphic further explains this.

I’m really happy with this product as the quality is excellent, the adhesion is strong, and they’re easy to use. We used these to cover our existing laundry tiles, which were chipped and cracked after removing an old leaking sink unit. These stick-on tiles were ideal as there was no need to remove the old tiles and we could extend them right across the backsplash. They’re thick enough to mask the underlying grout lines between the old tiles and also adhered beautifully to plywood, which we added to level out the wall.

Cutting them took a bit of elbow grease (thanks to awkward shapes around taps and having a blunt utility knife, etc.), but the finish was worth it. I debated between the white and natural stone options, and I’m glad I went with the matte white as it looks perfect in our laundry.

I decided to grout them (not necessary, but I liked the look) and used standard cement grout from Bunnings, which I wouldn’t recommend, as the shallow indents caused a few small cracks after a mini earthquake the night I finished! I’ll redo it later with a more suitable flexible grout.

The only minor issue is that our base tiles weren’t perfectly even, and that does show slightly. This is not a big deal for us, but perfectionists will want a completely flat base.

Delivery and customer service were excellent, even to our regional area. I’m so pleased with the result and will definitely use these again for future projects. Guests are always surprised when I tell them they’re not real ceramic tiles!

Ezy Peezey 👍

I really enjoyed laying these. They have a super strong stick, but you still have a decent amount of time to pull up and adjust before they’re stuck down for good. Jake was super helpful and answered all 100 of my questions so I felt confident laying them.

These were a last ditch effort to make my small ensuite enjoyable before inevitably gutting the whole lot and starting again. Which will be expensive and is definitely a future me problem.

The hardest part for me was cutting out the circle for the drain hole in the middle of a tile. After ruining a few tiles I finally did one that I was happy with, and I still managed to end up with a few tiles left over with no other real mistakes. They’re sticking well, seem sturdy, although only time will tell and it only took me a couple of hours to do.

My only complaint is that there’s a lot of colour variation between each tile and the patterns don’t match up regardless of weather or not I used tiles from the same box or followed the arrows on the back. Thankfully you can’t really tell until you get up close. So I would suggest getting an extra packet to give you some be ability to fiddle around with all the tiles to make sure they line up with the surrounding tiles. I also used a vinyl roller to make sure everything was stuck down properly once I was happy with where they were placed.

Super cute pattern, easy and quick DIY. Would absolutely recommend

Really impressed! Easy to fit and they look great! Wanted to glow up my laundry without spending a fortune.

Excellent product

The tiles look good and the sheets are accurately made and easy to line up. They are easy to trim to size, have a good thickness and stick well. Good value too and much easier than sticking tiles onto a wall and having to grout them.

Sample Box Review

Was happy with the sample box and the three tiles I picked - made it easier to make a choice and also I get a credit when I place my order. I was very happy with the quality and look of the tile

Great product love the look. is a little bit tricky to apply. Need to use a good adhesive and in the end used a staple gun as well, once painted staples are barely visible. Also needed to lay something on top to flatten for a few days.

Worked well to cover Tilelux (asbestos ) on old bathroom walls. Easy to apply and made the bathroom feel much cleaner and look much better.

These are a brilliant product & are so easy to install - my kitchen now looks Fab!
